Ford has been engaging in a charm offensive in the United States in recent days, lobbying hard against Trump's threat to levy 25 per cent tariffs on Canadian imports.
On Friday, Trump suggested to a CNBC reporter that he wants to work out a deal with Canada — which Ford promptly welcomed as "good news."
