Taylor Swift Draw

Fans of Taylor Swift can say goodbye to the end of a Cruel Summer and enter into a draw for a chance to Shake It Off with the icon herself.

The United Way Perth-Huron is putting on a charity raffle with tickets to Taylor Swift's November 23 concert in Toronto up for grabs thanks to a generous donation from Mike and Dr. Erin Heisz for people in Perth and Huron counties.

While there are sure to be haters that are gonna hate, the funds raised are going to the United Housing project.

“United Housing is a cause that our family passionately supports, recognizing the immense value it brings to our community. We have experienced in our own families and workplaces the difficulties obtaining safe and affordable housing in Perth-Huron and also Grey-Bruce, where we both are originally from," Dr. Heisz said in a media release.

The United Housing project, which is a first for the region, will provide a not-for-profit housing organization dedicated to developing and operating mixed rental units.

“We are so happy that 100 % of the proceeds will help advance this local initiative,” said Dr. Heisz. “By making the raffle tickets affordable, we hope to give every Taylor Swift fan the chance to experience an unforgettable concert while also contributing to a truly meaningful cause!”

Five thousand tickets have been printed and they are selling for $10 a piece.

“We have numerous businesses selling tickets in Huron and Perth Counties,” said Rebecca Scott, the resource development manager with United Housing. “You need to get yours today as they are swiftly going out the door.”

Up for grabs is the Karma is My Boyfriend VIP package, including four Taylor Swift prints, a commemorative Taylor Swift/Eras Tour VIP tote bag, pin, sticker and postcard set, souvenir concert ticket, special VIP tour laminate and matching lanyard, and two floor tickets.

“To get the tickets you have to be 18 year old,” said Scott. “While younger Swifties can go they cannot buy the tickets due to lottery and gaming rules, so we are encouraging of age Swifties and parents of Swifties to purchase tickets.”

If tickets are still available they will be sold at the United Way campaign kickoff event happening on September 20 in Stratford. The grand prize draw will take place at Junction 56 in Stratford on October 23 at 6:30 p.m.
