Suspect arrested in Stratford Street shooting

The suspect's vehicle was located in Hamilton, while the suspect was arrested in London

After an investigation spanning the region, a suspect in the Stratford Street shooting has been arrested.

The Stratford Police Service (SPS) have announced they have a suspect in custody for the Stratford Street shooting.

William Vincent of Milverton was arrested in London without incident Thursday evening and transported by the Stratford Police Service (SPS) to Stratford.

Mark Taylor of the SPS said that they had assistance from multiple departments, including the OPP, the Hamilton Police Service and the London Police Service.

The suspect's vehicle, a Chevrolet Monte Carlo, was located in Hamilton. Subsequently, the SPS got a call that the suspect was located in London and arrested. Taylor says they don't yet know how the suspect got from Hamilton to London.

During the evening of Dec. 20, what police are calling a 'targeted shooting' took place on Stratford Street. According to police, the suspect discharged a firearm at the male victim outside his home. The suspect then fled the scene in a white vehicle, described as possibly a Chevrolet Monte Carlo. The suspect travelled south on Stratford and turned onto Cambria Street toward Erie Street.
