The Stratford Business Improvement Area (BIA) is teaming up with local businesses to provide an unforgettable Halloween for the community.

“We love doing things for the kids and getting the kids and their parents to visit downtown,” said BIA General Manager Jamie Pritchard. “On Saturday Oct 26, businesses will be handing out treats for the kids between 2-4 p.m., and the BIA will be handing out treats while the local radio station plays music.”

The Halloween celebration event is a new one for the local BIA, and there are different posters for families to know what type of treats will be given out by businesses.

“Posters with orange means that candy will be given out,” said Pritchard. “The posters with green on them means that the business is giving out non-candy items.

There will also be a fun interactive experience called the Scare Cards, which will allow people to win $100 in downtown dollars.

“All you do is pick up your card at the BIA office or at Mercer Hall,” said Pritchard. “Then you go to different businesses and ask a question, and when you get a row or BINGO you drop them off for a chance to win.”

The local BIA is supporting other various Halloween type events taking place in Stratford. A list of upcoming events can be found on the BIA website.
