Two local municipalities have been busy, with West Perth set to host a public meeting Monday night.

The municipality is inviting the community to a public meeting on Monday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m., to discuss the Community Improvement Plan (CIP).

This plan looks to address affordable and attainable housing in the municipality. Phase three of the project was recently completed with a draft CIP and areas of interest being prepared. The CIP meeting will take place in council chambers but there is a virtual meeting option as well.

West Perth is also holding another public meeting in November. On Monday Nov 4 at 7 PM a public meeting will be held regarding the by-laws around domestic and exotic animals. Anyone with comments is asked to submit them by October 31 so they can be added to the agenda for the November 4 meeting.

Things have been equally busy in Perth South, where in a report from Chief Administrative Officer Fred Tranquilli, there were a few topics brought up to council. Senior staff along with the CAO are working on the upcoming budget, which is looking to be revealed to Perth South council in November. Staff also continues to work on matters as it relates to the leave of absence of Mayor Jim Aitcheson.

South Perth staff continue to work with BM Ross on an environmental assessment in Sebringville related to a proposed new development. A report is slated to make its way to council and the public sometime during the fourth quarter of the year. The CAO report also outlined how staff are working with the developer and BM Ross to develop a cost estimate for Station Road.

Perth South is also hosting a Perth Home Builders Association on October 29, which usually brings CAOs, and builders from around the county.
