A predicted wintry blast will not deter the return of Le Crapaud Cornu.
SpringWorks Festival are teaming up with Lights on Stratford for performances that include strolling puppets on Friday (Shake La Catin) and multi-coloured miming Sasquatches (Shake le Costume) on Saturday.
Both performances are scheduled for 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Market Square.
Eileen Smith, artistic producer of SpringWorks, an independent arts organization, said Le Crapaud Cornu (loosely translated to horned toads) was a welcome addition to the city's annual winter lights festival and they are delighted to return.
Smith said the artsy, musical, performances are "fun, silly and energized". They will be in and around the Dandelion light art instillation at Market Square.
Friday's performance includes "larger-than-life" strolling puppets.
"Picture ten-foot-tall puppets made of rings of light, walking around. They are just delightful."
The Sasquatches look as they sound. They are made of fibre optics and change colour as they jump around and dance, Smith said.
Two puppeteers operate the shows.
"They are really amazingly strong guys. So much fun, silly, energized, charming, lovely people.
"And so the puppets are charming, lovely people."
As far as the weather, Smith said they are planning to stay outside but if it gets too windy - the forecast calls for heavy winds Friday and Saturday - the performances will move indoors to the nearby Destination Stratford office.
"We would use a dance vibe. The atrium there is tall enough for it to work. People can come and take pictures on the inside or through the window."
