Ontario Sen. Rob Black is speaking to the Rotary Club of Stratford on Sept. 7.
The event at the Quality Inn & Suites on Ontario Street is open to the public. Lunch is served at 11:30 a.m. for $15, cash only, followed by the Rotary general meeting at noon and Black's 30-minute speech at 12:30 p.m.
Black has worked in the rural, agricultural, and leadership arenas for much of his working career, according to his provided biography. He was Ward 5 Representative on Wellington County Council. He has also been Manager of the Ontario Research and Development Challenge Fund, and President of the Ontario Agricultural Hall of Fame Association and the Wellington County Historical Society.
He applied to be a senator in July 2016 and in February 2018 he received a call from the Prime Minister, summoning him to the Senate to represent Ontario.
Black and his wife live near Fergus.
