Organizers are looking for more runners, volunteers and potential sponsors for the upcoming The Local CFC Stratford 5k Run/Walk, which will raise funds for The Local Community Food Centre.
The inaugural Oct. 2 event will navigate participants through some of the city’s eye-catching landmarks including the Stratford Festival Theatre and Tom Patterson Theatre.
The race will start and finish in Upper Queen's Park.
Organizers are marketing the event to all runners and walkers in towns and cities in south central Ontario. Runners will receive chip timing of their race, pictures, a finisher medal and a race shirt. There will also be a free kids 600 metre run prior to the 5K start.
The 5K race is scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m.
