SDSS students (from left) Carter Koch, Andrew Leitch and Noah Roth collected used sports equipment at the school recently that they're hoping to turn into assistance for other kids who need a hand affording sports.

The organizers of the Stratford District Secondary School's recent sports equipment drive were pleased with the turnout and the amount of gear they were able to bring in.

One of the student organizers, Carter Koch, said they were pleased with how things turned out.

"We had a great amount of donations, enough to fill two of our cars," he said. "I was very happy with the turnout and I'm excited to give out what we can."

The project was part of social justice assignment that Koch, Noah Roth, Andrew Leitch and Henry Tuer came up with. They are aiming to help Stratford Minor Baseball, Rotary hockey, basketball, volleyball, softball and the school's sports association.

"My next steps are to reach back out to all of the organizations to see if they can help me distribute the items," Koch said. "I'm also looking at other schools to see if maybe they would like items as well."
