Feel the warm glow of stories, songs, friends and of course heaters, as the Stratford Library is teaming up with the Stratford Perth Museum, the Rotary Club and Lights on Stratford to bring an outdoor story on December 19. \

The event called Tales and Trails: Snowin' and Glowin' is a family-friendly event for all ages.

“These partnerships are vital because, together, we are fostering connection, creativity, and lifelong learning,” said Brandi Gillett, the community engagement supervisor at the library. “By collaborating with community organizations, we’re able to create a memorable experience that blends education and recreation, strengthens the sense of community, and celebrates the power of storytelling”

Weather permitting, the museum will provide snowshoes so everyone can head out on the illuminated trail to read the story 'Sometimes I Feel Like an Oak,' written by Danielle Daniel. Afterwards, warm up by heading inside the museum and enjoy apple cider or tea and make some crafts or write a poem to take home.

“The event is designed to bring families together in a fun and interactive way that celebrates literacy, nature, and creativity,” said Gillett. “It encourages community bonding while promoting storytelling, music, and outdoor exploration.”

Everything takes place at the museum, starting at 6:30 p.m. and there is no cost to attend. More details can be found by visiting the Stratford Public Library website or contact the library directly at 519-271-0220. You can also reach out to the Stratford Perth Museum for additional details.
