Stratford will hold their household hazardous waste collection day Saturday, June 1, allowing residents to drop off materials labeled as corrosive, explosive, flammable or poisonous.
People can take their items to the Romeo Street landfill site between 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday for trained professionals to safely receive and dispose of.
Items that can be brought to the landfill include:
- paints (no empty containers), varnish, solvents, caulking or glue
- Fuels, antifreeze, brake fluid
- Used motor oil and filters
- Batteries (household, rechargeable, automotive)
- Energy efficient bulbs, fluorescent tubes/bulbs
- Needles in a puncture-proof container
- Refillable and non-refillable propane tanks
