Family Day weekend is filled with events in Stratford this year.
Starting with the long awaited Winterfest 2023, the annual festival takes over Upper Queens Park on Saturday with a host of events.
Ice sculptures, fire pits, tobogganing, an obstacle course, and mini putt are among the attractions.
Skating on an outdoor ice rink has been cancelled due to weather, according to Winterfest’s website.
There will also be a snowman judging competition. Each year students from local schools decorate wooden snowmen, which will be voted on to crown a winner on Saturday.
Additionally, a multi-sensory Winterfest event called ‘Ice Prints’ will be held at Gallery Stratford from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Winterfest is a free family-friendly event. For more information, visit their website.
On Sunday a family-friendly dance party takes over THE HUB Stratford. DJ Andy hosts from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., with an open dance floor, kids menus and favourite hits. Also Sunday, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., is a kids painting workshop at Knight and Clay. The cost is $30, which secures a spot and pizza, which will be served at 5 p.m.
