Stratford Arts and Culture Collective (SACC) have announced that $7,708 was raised through A Stratford Christmas.

The event, held at the Festival Theatre on Dec. 16, supported two local charities. Funds will be divided between Optimism Place and Shelterlink Youth Services.

According to a media release, the audience enjoyed a memorable holiday experience and contributed to the betterment of their community.

The SACC said they thoroughly enjoyed "coming together for this holiday celebration."

A Stratford Christmas was hosted by award-winning stage and film actress Sheila McCarthy and David Rogers (Phantom of the Opera, Stratford Starbright).

The production featured a lineup of world-class artists including Robert Ball, Mark Cassius, Laura Condlln, June Crowley, Ma-Anne Dionisio, Erica Peck, Rebecca Poff and Michael VanHevel.

Music direction was by Mark Payne. Also features were local and homegrown talent including Anika and Britta Johnson and Jake Stern along with the Stratford Concert Choir. The combination of the co-hosts’ humour, the selection of music and readings, and a grand finale with the talent and audience joining in made for a truly magical Christmas afternoon of entertainment, SACC said.
