The public is invited to attend the annual Remembrance Day ceremony today (Saturday) at the Stratford Cenotaph.

A two-minute moment of silence to honour Veterans begins promptly at 11 a.m.

Rick Boon will read the Honour Roll and announce the placing of 25 wreaths, according to a news release issued by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 8, Stratford.

Rick's father, Veteran Arthur Boon, who died in March at age 98, had not missed a single ceremony since returning from the Second World War in 1946 and his absence will be felt this year, the local Legion noted.

The ceremony will include a scripture reading by Rev. Canon Robert Lemon, and the Call to Remembrance by Royal Canadian Legion Branch 8 chaplain Rev. R.L. Read, as well as a parade, marching bands and the Stratford Middle Years Choir.

O’ Canada and The Royal Anthem (God Save The King) will be sung by Dayna Manning.

The ceremony will be broadcast live beginning at 10:45 a.m. on Rogers TV (Cable 20 and rogerstv.com), and livestreamed on Ballinran Entertainment’s YouTube channel.
