NEWS RELEASE
CITY OF STRATFORD
*************************
Stratford City Council will be holding a public meeting Thursday at 5:30 p.m. to hear from the community on the potential to declare the City-owned and heritage-designated property at 270 Water St. (also known as the Discovery Centre or the former Normal School) as surplus to its needs.
It is important to note that City Council has not yet made a decision on the future of this property.
Thursday’s public meeting is intended to gather input and feedback from the community, which will help to inform the decision-making process.
Following the public meeting, a report will be prepared for Council, including a summary of public feedback and options for Council’s consideration.
Council could then consider whether or not to declare the building as surplus to the needs of the municipal corporation, determine the method of disposal, and if necessary, set the sale price.
