Mitchell resident Kevin Larson had his criminal matters adjourned in Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on Monday.

Describing himself as a businessman and financial planner with real estate holdings in Stratford and areas throughout the county, Larson was charged in January by Stratford Police with five counts of fraud over $5,000, nine counts of uttering forged documents and one count of false pretense, with intent to defraud.

At the first appearance to address the charges, Larson's criminal matters were adjourned to April 8. According to court documents, Larson allegedly defrauded a local businessperson and used forged documents. He will appear later in March to address other criminal charges related to his arrest.

Police said they started investigating Larson in February, 2023 after concerns were raised from "several individuals regarding their investments" with Larson.

Larson was known for owning businesses and property in the community including the Hub restaurants in downtown Stratford and other locations in the county. He also worked in financial planning. He cooperated with the police and turned himself in at Stratford police headquarters.

Larson also faces charges from May, 2023 for failing to comply with an undertaking, as well as another fraud charge.
