A beloved event is coming back to Stratford for the first time since COVID.

The Bluegrass Brunch is taking place on Sunday, Oct 27 at The Local starting at 10 a.m.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun,” said Julie Docker Johnson, the community connector. “There will be a great brunch, live music from the bluegrass band the Blurry Pickers, the market will be open, and we will be making flower crowns in the greenhouse.”

The brunch runs until 1 p.m. and it will be admission by donation.

“There is no cost, it’s basically pay whatever you can,” said Docker Johnson. “This event is part of our fundraising campaign, so once we pay for all of our expenses, the money will go back to keeping The Local doing what we do.”

The Bluegrass Brunch started in 2015, before having to be cancelled due to the pandemic, but it is an event often asked about by the community.

“Since we reopened from COVID, we have put on various programing and provided services,” said Johnson. “It doesn’t matter what we offer, as people still ask about the Bluegrass Brunch, so we knew it was something we had to bring back for the community. It’s going to be fabulous and so much fun for everyone."
