Road projects in and around the downtown area are up and going and causing some predictable traffic headaches.
Part of Albert Street will be closed until mid-October, the City of Stratford estimates.
The City announced that work has begun on phase one Albert Street reconstruction, between Waterloo Street and Front Street.
That project involves upgrades to the existing sanitary and storm sewers and watermains, as well as the reconstruction of the roadway.
A traffic circle will be installed at the intersection of Nile Street and Albert Street, intended to act as a traffic calming measure and to make the street more inviting to cyclists, per a comment on the City’s post.
More information can be found on the project here.
The Albert Street reconstruction project is not the only road project underway in the city this summer.
A short distance away, Ontario Street has lane reductions from Queen Street to Parkview Drive for watermain replacement (work expected to last until early August) and from Waterloo Street to Parkview Drive for asphalt resurfacing (work expected to last until early September).
