Stratford Police attend traffic initiative in St. Thomas

Stratford Police were one of four participating services to attend the Four Counties Traffic Initiative hosted by the St. Thomas Police Service on Monday, Oct. 21., to take part in a day of traffic monitoring.

Held in different communities within the participating counties, the initiative is intended to address road safety. Traffic specialists from St. Thomas, Stratford, Aylmer, Woodstock and London took part in the day-long event.

Among the charges laid during the day were:

  • 11 speeding charges
  • 11 fail to wear seatbelt charges
  • 10 warnings issued
  • 8 drive hand held communication device charges
  • 6 stop sign violations and other sign violations
  • 5 license plate violations
  • 4 driving without a license violations
  • 3 sets of plates were seized and commercial motor vehicles removed from the road
  • 2 improper muffler charges

In total, police issued 59 traffic-related charges.
