It is with great sadness that the family of Austin Matthew John Wheeler announces his passing on Friday February 14, 2025 at the age of 20. Born in Stratford, Austin was the cherished son of Angie and Matt Wheeler and loving brother to Ashley (Tommy) Yanchus and Aliyah Wheeler. Austin will be greatly missed by his grandparents Judy and Gary Schmidt, Grace Koskamp, Jim Schwartzentruber and his many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Austin will be lovingly remembered by his friends and Bella Vi Nguyen, who he cared for and loved deeply.
Austin had a deep passion for soccer, especially his favourite teams Manchester United and the Dutch National team. He enjoyed spending time with his friends online, fishing and his time out west hiking the Rocky Mountains with his family. He will be remembered as a kind, caring, funny, and bright soul. Even though he struggled with his own mental health, he found ways to bring joy to those in his life. His absence leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of his family and all who knew him. He will forever be loved and greatly missed.
Austin’s family and friends will honour his life in a private service. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Tanner Steffler Foundation through the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St, Stratford, ON.
