April 8, 1950 - January 24, 2025
On January 24th of this year, in the afternoon, it was quiet in Dennis Wayne Rutledge’s room, as the staff put him into bed for a nap – he was often tired after lunch. The nurses and I talked to him but Den was far away, never responding to their questions – just breathing. Not long after, he was gone, his twenty-year journey was at an end and a new beginning was ahead of him as he met his Heavenly Father and went Home.
Dennis Wayne Rutledge was just three months shy of his 75th birthday when he died.
He leaves behind a host of people he loved and who loved him – family and friends, and his church family who were such an encouragement to him with their love and their caring ways.
His closest family hemmed us in with their help, their kind words, goodies and coffee! We may have caffeine withdrawal shock now that we don't have Den to buy for. It's the little things like that, we will miss.
As many of you know Dennis was living at Spruce Lodge in Stratford because of the care he needed. The best gift they gave Dennis and in turn, his family, was the honour-guard as he was wheeled out the front door into the care of Rutherford Cremation & Funeral Services.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 2 pm at Jubilee Church. 707 Downie St., Stratford. All are welcome.
