To my wife – in memoriam
For over 47 years you have been my constant companion and soulmate. Since we married in 1980, the vows we took have been the keystone of our relationship.
We have never been rich but neither have we ever been poor. We have never wanted for anything that we truly needed or valued.
We have been remarkably lucky not to have had any serious illness in all this time, up until this most recent struggle. During this sickness I hope that my love and caregiving made your suffering at least a tiny bit more bearable. All in all, our time together has definitely been in the “better” category. Any worse moments have been minor rarities and short-lived.
Even though death has parted us physically, you will always remain in my heart until the “grim reaper” comes looking for me as well.
Thank you for making my life a happy and rewarding one. I can’t imagine what is to come without you by my side, but I will cherish the memories of what we shared. R.I.P.
With all my love,
Joe.
