Robert Charles Kearsey (also known as Dunc to his many friends) passed away peacefully at Stratford General Hospital on Thursday, December 5th, 2024
Born in Stratford on February 6, 1938, he was the son of Frank and Jessie Kearsey.
He is survived by the love of his life Sharon (nee Wettlaufer). Also survived by two sons, Franklyn and partner Stephanie and Mark and wife Stephanie. Also survived by six grandchildren, Frank’s daughters, Laura, Sophie, and Ruby and Mark’s children, Quinn, Koen and Saige. He was so proud of them all. Also survived by a sister Mary Sumarak and sister-in-law, Dorothy Wettlaufer and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Frank, sister Ann, sister Nancy and brother in laws Karl Wettlaufer and Bernie Schmitte.
Bob and Frank owned and operated Kearsey Brothers Plastering for many years and were well known contractors in the area. Bob loved fishing, especially for lake trout and always looked forward to going to Manitoulin Island on the May 24 long weekend. He was an honorary member of the Meadow Run Game Club and was often the guy behind the fryer at their Fish Fries which they held every summer.
Bob was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and served as a trustee for several years.
Friends and relatives are invited to Bob’s visitation at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St, Stratford on Monday, December 9, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 115 Cambria St, Stratford.
