It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William John Dunseith, who departed this world peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2023, surrounded by his cherished granddaughter, Danyka Dunseith, and the best healthcare, after a life well-lived.
William, born on March 20, 1944, was a loving and devoted family man who leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and lasting memories. He is survived by his beloved family members, including his granddaughter Danyka Dunseith, the daughter of his daughter Heather Dunseith. He is also survived by his sister Margaret Spearin (Terry), brother Rick Dunseith (Mary), brother Doug Dunseith (Sue), and his caregiver, Bonnie Dunseith. William's presence will be deeply missed by his nephew and nieces.
William was predeceased by his parents, William John Dunseith and Irene Bernice Dunseith (Ellis), who surely welcomed him with open arms in the afterlife.
A man of many passions and talents, William was known for his love of golf and his remarkable eye for machinery and building. He could craft and create almost anything he set his mind to, leaving a trail of beautifully constructed projects in his wake. His hands were skilled, and his determination unwavering.
One of William's greatest joys was his love for race cars. He was a true enthusiast, often spending countless hours building and fine-tuning vehicles. His need for speed led him to participate in numerous southern races, where he displayed both his prowess and his unbridled passion for the sport. His dedication to the racing world was a testament to his adventurous spirit and relentless pursuit of his interests.
After a successful career at Domtar in St. Mary’s, ON, William shifted his focus to nurturing his lifelong passions, including helping his granddaughter at the farm. This allowed him to embrace the things he loved most, bringing happiness to himself and those around him.
William's presence lit up the lives of everyone he encountered, and his memory will continue to shine brightly in our hearts. He was a devoted family man, a master craftsman, a racing enthusiast, and a man who lived life to the fullest. His laughter, wisdom, and love will be immensely missed but will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
In honouring the memory of William John Dunseith, let us celebrate a life well-lived and continue to find inspiration in his passions, his unyielding determination, and the love he shared with all of us.
There will be a Celebration of life will be held on Saturday November 11, 2023 3pm – 7pm at Army and Navy Army & Navy Air Force Veterans Club St. Mary’s (23 Wellington St N, St. Marys, ON N4X 1B7).
