Snow squall watch continued for:

  •    Listowel - Milverton - Northern Perth County
  •    Mount Forest - Arthur - Northern Wellington County
  •    Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale

Current details:
Lake effect snow possible through the weekend.

Hazards:
Locally heavy snowfall with significant accumulations possible.
Poor visibility at times in heavy snow and local blowing snow.

Timing:
Continuing through the weekend and possibly into early next week.

Discussion:
Lake effect snow squalls off of Lake Huron have developed and will persist through the weekend. At this time, the heaviest snow squalls are expected to remain just north of the region, where snow squall warnings have been issued. However, it is possible that these snow squalls could suddenly shift south into the region.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Road closures are possible.
