For over 50 years, L’Arche Stratford has been all about being together in relationships that transform our lives and society! We are people with and without disabilities choosing to live, work and learn together. Our mission is to make known the gifts of people with developmental disabilities, revealed through mutually transforming relationships.
Currently L’Arche Stratford supports approximately 35 people in six homes and 50 people in programming activities but there is a growing need for the services L’Arche provides to people with developmental disabilities. To address that need we have embarked on the Be Become Belong capital campaign. The $6.5 million Be Become Belong capital campaign will see the construction of a 13,000 square foot, one level, fully accessible building that will enable L’Arche Stratford to respond to the changing needs of our members. It will provide eight affordable, independent living suites thereby expanding capacity and easing our dependency on renting homes and the instability that brings. Bright and spacious activity rooms will offer much needed support for activities and reduce the waitlist by 65 per cent.
