The Best Little Pork Shoppe has been a Perth County staple for over 30 years. Established in 1987, Linda and Gerry Knechtel began selling whole-hog sausage from their back door and quickly graduated to a small shop in their implement shed in 1990.
In 2011, the business was bought by Linda and Bruce Wettlaufer. The Wettlaufers continued the business until 2022, when the business was purchased by Ben and Natalie Schelhaas.
Ben was born in Stratford and raised in and around Shakespeare, with fond memories of playing on the local baseball team in his childhood. Natalie was born in Hamilton and moved to London as a child. The couple met in the fall of 2019.
With more than 25 years combined experience in professional kitchens, hotels, retail, and grocery, Ben and Natalie Schelhaas are excited to continue providing our customers with the fresh, local products that Pork Shoppe customers have come to love. We look forward to continuing the philosophy of previous ownership:

Local Producers
All of our meat products are locally grown, butchered, and processed. We stock as many Canadian Made products as possible.
No Fillers or Preservatives
Gluten-free, dairy free, and no added bull. Our whole-hog sausage has always been made this way, and we don't plan on changing it.
Processed Weekly
Fresh food is our priority. We order our hogs weekly to keep our inventory as fresh as possible.
Products:
Starting in 2023, we have been introducing bulk quantities and packages for as many products as we can. We currently sell 10lb cases of our sausage and bacon and 11lb cases of our bone-in and boneless smoked pork chops.
We now sell 1/2 pig packages as well!
