October 9/24 - Empowered Seniors Speaker Series

Whether you are already living in a condo or contemplating buying one, there is a lot to learn about rules, inclusions, and owner responsibility.

In this months Empowered Seniors Speakers Series presentation Maria Durdan, Assistant Managing Partner at Simpson Wigle Law, Chair of the Condominium Practice Group and President of the Canadian Condominium Institute (CCI), Golden Horseshoe Chapter, will tell us What You Need to Know About Condominiums and Condo Living. Maria will share her knowledge about condominium law.

During this seminar, you’ll learn:
- What are the typical rules of condominium living and ownership
- What is the status certificate and how it applies to your purchase
- The lawyer’s role
- What you own and what you don’t
- The role of the Board and your rights as an owner
- The differences and similarities between different types of condominiums

Moving from the family home into a condominium is an exciting change for most people who are ready to downsize. It’s the chance to be free of the burden of home maintenance and to have a fresh start in a new home. Condominium complexes are micro-communities and come in a variety of configurations, from self-contained apartments or townhomes that are easy to lock and leave to semi-detached and detached homes where some or all of the exterior maintenance is taken care of for you.

Reserve your free seat for this session, taking place from 1:30 - 3:00 pm on Wednesday October 9/24 at the Burlington Art Gallery, 1333 Lakeshore Rd. by visiting Empowered Seniors Speakers Series or calling 905-330-5201.
